CASE STUDY #5

It had been over 1 year, and Paul was getting frustrated.

He had posted to hundreds of online opportunities, but didn't get a single call back. He was trying to network his way in, but was getting minimal traction.

As a Senior Director with 15+ years' experience and significant success in conceptualizing and operationalizing large entertainment venues, he had a vision of where he wanted to take his career, and that entailed relocating to Los Angeles to land a highly coveted executive role within the media & entertainment industry.

Concerned about the lack of traction he was experiencing, he reached out to me.

THE CHALLENGE

One of the biggest challenges executive job seekers face is that after years of driving for results, they are too close to it, meaning they are too close to the product (themselves).

Such was in the case as Paul. But also on his original resume, the resume reads like a cut and paste from a job description. It outlines all his responsibilities, but there are no key achievements or metrics that speak to his leadership, his ability to deliver results, his ability to overcome adversity and pivot, his ability to innovate ...the list goes on.

In the Brand Transformation, all these issues were addressed in his new resume and his narrative came together in manner that gave Paul credit for all that he had accomplished as a leader.

THE RESULT

As a result of this Brand Overhaul, Paul was well-equipped to make a statement as he headed to Los Angeles, enabling him to land his dream opportunity within 6 months.
