Strategic Networking Activation
Your Experience Alone Doesn't Create Opportunity. Your Market Activation Does.
As you move into the Strategic Networking (not coffee chats!) Activation module, it’s important to understand that networking is not a single, fixed strategy. There are multiple approaches, and the right one depends entirely on your situation in the market.
Effective networking is contextual. It shifts based on several key factors:
-
Your seniority level (Senior Director, VP, or C-suite)
-
Your clarity of direction (targeted search vs. exploratory)
-
Your visibility strategy (stealth mode vs. active public search)
-
Your specific goals (private equity? specific target companies? other?)
The strategies and tools below are designed for executives who are conducting an active, public search and have already established clarity around their target direction.
Effective networking is not about collecting conversations or scheduling endless “coffee chats.”
It is about creating intentional, high-value conversations that generate insight, referrals, and opportunities.
Your first step is to make The 20-Minute Networking Meeting (Executive Edition), your executive networking playbook. This resource provides a proven framework for preparing for, structuring, and leading productive networking conversations—helping you move beyond casual discussions and toward strategic relationship-building.
Once you have the foundation in place, continue with the “Networking Conversations That Activate Your Pipeline” and “The Networking Flywheel Technique” modules to build a repeatable approach for activating your network, expanding your reach, and creating momentum in your executive search.
Step 1
The 20-Minute Networking Method
Once you’ve identified your target network and built out your outreach list, the next critical step is understanding how to actually use those connections effectively.
Most people approach networking meetings as informal “coffee chats.”
That’s a missed opportunity. In the context of a job search—especially at the senior level—these are not casual conversations.
They are structured, intentional, strategic meetings designed to advance clarity, uncover opportunities, and position you within the market.
That means every part of the process matters: how you request the meeting, how you frame the purpose, how you guide the conversation, and how you follow up.
Done well, a networking meeting becomes a mechanism for insight, referrals, and directional momentum in your search—not just relationship building in isolation.
Please listen to the module and then order the resource prescribed in the model (link below as well).
This learning resource will walk through exactly how to structure these conversations so they feel natural, but remain purposeful.
You’ll learn how to ask for the meeting in a way that increases acceptance rates, how to set context without overloading the other person, and how to guide the discussion so it supports your broader job search strategy.
If you take one immediate action from this section, it should be to get this book on Amazon Prime and start reading it.
It’s a quick weekend read, but it will fundamentally change how you think about networking conversations and how much value you can extract from them.
Step 2
Activate Your Pipeline + Audit Results
In the next audio, I’ll walk you through a quick but important exercise designed to challenge and refine your current assumptions about how effective your networking approach really is.
This is where we move from concept to
capability.
You’ll begin building the practical skill sets and tools that take what you learned in Module One and translate it into real, repeatable execution in live networking conversations.
The focus here is not just understanding the framework—it’s applying it in a way that consistently improves your outcomes over time.
My recommendation is to treat this as skill-building, not one-off learning.
The goal is to develop new “muscles” around how you initiate, structure, and manage each networking interaction so that it becomes a consistent and intentional part of your job search strategy.
As you move through this section, you’ll also find the supporting resources outlined above.
Step 3
Quickly Multiple
Your Outreach
Finally, there is one last essential exercise and set of skills to build as part of this module.
At this stage, the focus is on developing consistency and fluency across your entire networking process—from initiation to execution to follow-through.
First, you want to get comfortable initiating and then holding effective conversations, using the structure outlined in The 20-Minute Networking Meeting. This gives you a clear framework for keeping discussions focused, respectful of time, and strategically aligned to your job search goals.
Second, you’ll begin incorporating specific language techniques designed to activate your network more intentionally. These subtle shifts in phrasing and framing often make a significant difference in how people respond, the level of engagement you receive, and the quality of opportunities that surface.
Finally, you’ll practice applying the Networking Flywheel technique as you close each conversation. This is what turns individual meetings into momentum—creating natural extensions into referrals, introductions, and additional conversations when the cadence is handled correctly.
Taken together, these three practices form the foundation of an effective, repeatable networking system.
Above, you’ll find the supporting resources for this section.

Tier 2
The 3-Month
Accelerator Advantage
This is a truly immersive partnership program, where I work with you every step of the way over the next 3 months, helping you clarify your goals, build your executive brand and positioning, and accelerate traction in the market.
Stage 1 – Foundational Work
First, we start with your completion of the prep work (Blueprint for Success + Thought Starter Questions) coupled with 2–3 (45-min) Strategy Sessions to get crystal clear on your career direction, curate your achievements, identify your competitive levers and unique value proposition, and pull forward your leadership capabilities for executive roles.
This is the foundation — without it, everything else is less effective.
Stage 2 – Brand Assets & Portfolio Development
Once we have that clarity, we move to Stage 2, taking everything from Stage 1 and build your resume, LinkedIn, executive (or networking) bio and other brand assets to showcase your story. This ensures your impact is visible and compelling to the market — so decision-makers immediately understand your senior-level value and where you fit into their organization.
Stage 3 – Targeted Go to Market & Market Activation Strategy
Then, we move to Stage 3, which is critical in today's market. Here we refine your ideal target buyers, complete messaging and positioning frameworks, and review the go-to-market strategies that will generate traction fastest. This includes recruiters, hidden job market, direct outreach, thought leadership, and other tactics that put you in front of the key decision-makers and generate the right interview opportunities, faster.
We build a roadmap to execute this strategy, which includes the initial (45-min) GTM Strategy Consult, and 2 additional (45-min) flex strategy calls over 3 months, which can be used for GTM execution or interview prep. This stage ensures you become the candidate of choice and are clearly understood in the market — which is critical for a corporate unicorn profile.
Tier 2 also includes 5 hours of tailoring support. This builds directly on the foundation from Stage 1 and gives you extra leverage in the market.
